The Aviation Academy of Queensland started at Maroochydore in 1991 and plans for a substantial presence here on the 'field over the next twelve months

The main focus for the school initially will be in the provision of aviation theory both via attendance courses and via the self/home study CBT courses

It has only been 7 months since the '4 was reported "missing in action" after experiencing an engine failure (or two) out of Townsville

The '4 required extensive work in the far north, including the overhaul of 2 engines here on the 'field and then installation of these fresh engines before it was able to return to home base
