  • New Russian Aircraft

The excitement builds amoungst the local avaitors on the 'field as a new 400 mph warbird takes shape in a hangar on the western side of AF

The "new" Russian Yak 3 fighter aircraft mentioned on these pages last month is in the final stages of assembly prior to flight

The Yak 3 is from the WWII design era that many people now say is "grossly uncomplicated" compared to the modern fighter aircraft of to-day

The flight will be a "first" for the airfield and most likely the same for this type of aircraft here in OZ
The latest really "new" aircraft on the field - as in no recorded flight hours as yet - is this twin-seat Yak 52 Russian trainer that is also in its final assembly stage and due to fly shortly
