Aviators Gearing up for Easter Break

Easter Aerobatic Championships & Air Shows

The local aviators are gearing up for a series of Air Shows and Flying skill championships to be held over the coming Easter break

The Australian Aerobatic Championships are to be held at Maroochydore and as well there is a big Kiwi air-show "Warbirds over Wanaka" in NZ that has attracted a few of the locals to take the big jump across 'the puddle' and catch all the action from a New Zealand viewpoint

News Desk Observation

Archerfield now has a number of top class sport aircraft and talented pilots who fly them and should do well at the upcoming aerobatic championship

  • The Keith Hinchliffe "built at home" Acro Sport is expected to do well

In Other NewsThe 'Watt Field' Drop Zone

The Parachute drop zone Annonay west of Archerfield and home base for Ripcord Skydivers is having the airstrip upgraded and when completed it is to be dedicated to a local WW2 pilot and renamed "Watts Field"

Now Watts Field is not to be confused with the airfield which is to the north west of Archerfield and home base for the vintage and sport aircraft enthusiast

Bound to create some confusion... both are almost within shouting distance of AF and each other!
