Archerfield Airport Up-Date
Latest from Archerfield

On Thursday - the first day of the OZ winter - a Yak 52 aborted take-off on 22L shortly before noon after experiencing an apparent engine problem

The Yak blew enough white smoke after landing straight ahead that would make an aerobatics display pilot turn green with envy!

The aircraft departed a short time later after rectifying the problem

On a more interesting note:

The News Desk has just been informed that Reg Grundy is looking to hold a week-end PPL ground refresher course aimed at those pilots who feel they may be in need of some help with the ever-changing requirements of the OZ aviation industry

Reg handed back his Flying School Ticket to the Authorities at the end of last year and now wants to help those pilots who feel "uncomfortable" with a large flying school operation and their preoccupation with the beginner pilot
