 Aircraft Registration Back-Flip - CASA Gets it Wrong - AGAIN

The new aircraft registration procedures¹ have been repealed after some adept work by Boyd Munro from www.airsafety.com.au and the now famous fax brigade effort

The Democrats and Labor combined in the Senate on the afternoon of 8th November 2000 and disallowed CASR Part 47 to be passed as legislation
 
One of Senators mentioned that he had received more than 1,000 faxes opposing the new regulations and not a single one in favour!

News from a few of the maintenance workshops - as the declining OZ dollar attracts overseas buyers - is that a number of good quality aircraft have been sold and are in the process of returning to the USA


The Sydney Morning Herald/Sun-Herald reports that RAAF is running out of pilots¹
 
The OZ Air Force has only 11 operational pilots for the 34 F-111 Aardvark fighter bombers and 42 fighter pilots for the 77 F/A-18 Hornets !
