OZ - Safest Place to Fly

After messing about with statistics over the past 60+ years the OZ Government has finally reported that  aircraft fatal accidents  are the only type of accident that is equally reported in Australia, USA and Canada and now used as a benchmark for OZ safety

Virgin Quote:-  Australias general aviation fatal accident rate per 100 000 flight hours for the year 2000 was the lowest  of the three countries reported (down from 1.41 ten years ago to 1.00) Note for non-aviators:  Road fatalities were  9.3 per 100,000 population/hrs in 1999 - aviation 2.17
