Boyd quotes the amendment as "vintage CASA" and warns aircraft owners and pilots of the consequences if the Bill is passed and made law

The "stalled" Flight Simulator business mentioned in Week Four of last month is about to become "airborne" with two simulators available for IFR renewals and pilot procedural training

The Boss of CASA, Mick Toller, mentioned to the press a few days ago that OZ has as good as similar countries overseas ¹
This may be true for the heavy jet fleet, however it is not true of light aircraft where the safety record is twice as bad as similar countries overseas

As mentioned before in these AirCentre pages - the excellent safety record of the heavy jet fleet in OZ has only been achieved by the "sacrifice" of thousands of private light aircraft pilots and passengers who were "caught out" by changing weather conditions and other low level dangers after having been forced to fly low because of the heavy jet controlled airspace above
