The Police Department have called into Archerfield's flying schools during the week in the hunt for the USA terrorists

Gil Layt is reported in the local press as:-"They came out and flashed their badges, ..but did not inspect records"

Queensland's Courier Mail quotes Gil to be from "Archerfield Air Training Academy", which appears to be a newly established phantom flying school at AF!

Gil's 30 plus years on AF as a flying school is called appropriately "Gil Layt's Flying School"!

 September 15: 
The USA's Federal Aviation Administration has advised that general aviation craft are still not allowed to fly VFR  (IFR now approved) 

Quote from Aero-News:-
"Some flights did get into the air, but don't count them lucky. F-16s intercepted not only corporate aircraft and demanded they land immediately, but in Texas, a student and flight instructor returned to home base after a similar intercept"

The Hempel operated Grumman Agcat, a 25yo+ veteran bi-plane and ex-crop duster used for banner towing nowadays, had a major malfunction in the engine department last Saturday during a banner pick-up exercise at Archerfield

Quote from USA's Secretary Mineta:- "Effective today, general aviation that important segment of aviation consisting of privately owned and operated aircraft, will be allowed to resume flights operating under Instrument Flight Rules"

Media reports have the latest pilot navigation charts from Kiwi Land so inaccurate they are to be reprinted because of air safety concerns

The maps have apparently left out at least one airport and include incorrect flight paths, heights and airways clearance information with category errors
