The News Desk has been informed that the Aviation Academy of Queensland, a flying school that established itself on Archerfield in 1999, has now decided to quit the airfield and concentrate on it's main base at Maroochydore airport

In just a few short years at Archerfield and more recently operating out of a refurbished Hangar 3 - AAQ is about to depart leaving the airfield down one more flying school

Tu-154 Jet Down in Iran

 February 13 
A Tupolev 154 passenger jet, chartered by a domestic subsidiary of the national flag carrier Iran Air, has crashed near the south-western Iranian city of Khoramabad

Media reports indicate that there were 117 passengers and crew members on board the Tu-154 and all are believed to have perished

That makes two of these Soviet built passenger jets to crash in the last 7 months
