Indonesian B737's making News

 January 16 
Over the last three days in the Indonesian area two Boeing B737 passenger jet aircraft have crashed

On Monday one failed to become airborne departing the Batam airport near Singapore and impacted the ground injuring 7

To-day another 737 belonging to
Garuda Indonesia with 54 passengers on board is reported by the media to be "floating" in Bengawan Solo river on the island of Java with a flight attendant drowned and 12 passengers injured during evacuation

Kiwi Tourist Flight Fatality

 January 19 
A Cessna C207 on a sight-seeing flight with 6 POB has hit the side of a mountain en-route from Te Anau to Milford Sound in the South Island of N.Z.

Conditions were clear and perfect for flying with an experienced (?) 26-year-old pilot at the controls - the aircraft impacted the side of a mountain near Hollyford at 1,371 metres only 61 metres from the summit

On board the aircraft were four tourists - two from Britain and two from Canada

Boeing B767 Spy Plane

A new US built Boeing B767 aircraft for use by China's president Jiang Zemin is reported by Chinese intelligence to be fitted with more than 20 spying devices

The tiny satellite-controlled bugs were discovered when they emitted a static whine during flight tests in China last September

Media reports indicate that at least one was found in a lavatory and another in the headboard of the presidential bed
