The $1.2 billion Defence Radar

After 40 years in the making, and $1.2 billion spent on it, the OZ designed Jindalee 'over the horizon' defence radar system is now fully operational

It uses 2 radars, one at Longreach and the other at Laverton in WA and operated from the RAAF Base Edinburgh in South OZ

USA's Meigs Field Destroyed

Meigs Field is well known around the world with aircraft simulator fans - it is the default airfield that is displayed when the popular Microsoft Flight Simulator program starts

The fate of 16 light aircraft that remain on the airport (refer image) is unclear
