Qantas Emergency in Kiwi Land

September 7 
A Melbourne bound Qantas 737 jet departing Christchurch in Kiwi Land with 102 passengers on board was forced to return for an emergency landing after an engine quit on climb out

The aircraft landed without further incident and media reports have engineers wanting to fit another engine to the crippled jet

Similar incidents have occurred with Qantas aircraft in OZ - the most recent at Cairns FNQ

Saturday 'Arvo at Bankstown

September 13 
Airport emergency services at Sydney's Bankstown airport were required twice during the Saturday afternoon "session"


Media reports had one light aircraft carrying out a wheels-up landing and another reporting inbound with "undercarriage problems" a short time later


Both aircraft "landed" satisfactorily - there were no injuries to the five POB involved

September 7 
A microlight carrying out a training exercise pranged at Bunbury Airport in West OZ

The pilot and his instructor survived after the aircraft "nosedived into the ground" shortly after take-off



September 11 
A "lightie" impacted the ground at Elsey Station near Mataranka about 400km south of Darwin in the Northern Territory

The pilot - the only person on board the aircraft - sustained some injuries and was taken to the Katherine Hospital
