 Airline Pilots Sacked in USA for "Drinking and Flying"
 Indicted by Grand Jury on Federal Charge - 15 Years Jail IF Guilty

Two years ago in July 2002 USA professional airline pilots - Captain Thomas Cloyd and F O Christopher Hughes - tried to fly their America West Airbus A319 from Miami to Phoenix "under the influence of alcohol"

"A female security guard at Miami airport suspected the 2 were drunk and called police"

The Airbus had 124 passengers on board and was taxiing for take-off when controllers ordered it back to the terminal - the pilots were fired by America West the same day

After legal manoeuvring over the past 2 years the pilots were set free on $100,000 bond -  "Each pilot faces up to 15 years in prison and fines of $250,000 if convicted"
