3 persons have minor injuries after the Cessna they were in flipped on landing at Katoomba's Medlow Bath airfield

Media reports indicate the aircraft "flipped over after being hit by a gust of wind upon landing"

The AF locals have advised that an Archerfield aviator has lost his aircraft at Mt Hagen in PNG about 1 week ago

The aircraft concerned was a twin-engine Baron that apparently landed wheels-up after arriving at Mt Hagen with a group of fellow aviators who were part of
Bill Finlen's "Flying Safari" to the PNG - there were no injuries

Veteran WW2 P-51D Mustang Damaged

Popular UK P-51D Warbird, "Miss Helen", was damaged in a forced landing after an airshow performance over the week-end

The owner/pilot of the historical WW11 Mustang, Robert Lamplough, was uninjured in the accident



"It wears the colours of the Eighth Air Force's 487th Fighter Section 352nd Fighter Group with which it served in 1945. This aircraft served with Israeli Defence Force and saw combat in the 1956 Sinai campaign"

Qantas Near-Miss with Qantas

A Qantas Jetstar aircraft departing Hamilton Is. Saturday had to take avoiding action to miss another Qantas aircraft on approach to the Island






"Passengers reported that a Qantas plane, and an aircraft of the airline's budget carrier Jetstar, came close to colliding in mid-air near Hamilton Island in the Whitsunday Islands"
