 OZ Nanchang CJ-6A & Pilot Lost in Aerobatic Training
 Another Passennger Jet Down - This Time in Peru - 40 Lives Lost

A 54-year-old pilot in his "new" 1950's vintage Chinese built Nanchang CJ-6A trainer aircraft (registered as owner just 1½ months ago) was practising aerobatics over the sea when he carried out a "Truscott Barrel Roll" manoeuvre and ended up too low during the sequence

The CJ-6A impacted the sea off Turimetta Beach north of Sydney and was destroyed by the impact forces and sank - rescuers recovered the body of the pilot a few hours later
 

"It was heading south and crashed whilst performing a barrel roll - It entered the water upside down"

A Peru TANS Boeing 737-200 airliner with 100 persons on board descended into the ground when on approach to Pucallpa Airport during a severe storm

Around 60 persons survived - most were seated in the rear section of the aircraft - the front section caught fire shortly after impact trapping a number of passengers
