Media have a crop-duster crashing in South West QLD late Thursday claiming the life of the pilot who was found still strapped in the cockpit at around 2100hrs
 
The aircraft finished up on a property at Dirranbandi near the QLD/NSW's border after commencing operations in Mungindi in NSW
 
It's understood the pilot was from West OZ

January 10
The Royal Victorian Aero Club operated Beech Baron landed wheels-up at Moorabbin airport during a pilot training exercise of landing "touch-and-goes"
 
Both the pilot and instructor escaped without injury, the twin-engine Beech was not so lucky
 
The undercarriage was not down or someone had selected the gear knob "up" instead of flap "up" in the "touch-and-go" ...naughty ..naughty ..smack!

January 12
Budget airline EasyJet suspended one of it's pilots who had been scheduled to fly an Airbus A319 in Germany to Basel in Switzerland with 120 passengers on board
 
The pilot was suspected of exceeding the alcohol limit as set down by the regulations shortly before she was due to take-off from Berlin's Schoenefeld airport

In Italy a prosecutor has asked a judge to sentence 36 air traffic controllers to between 6 and 19 months jail after some of them were spotted playing soccer or shopping instead of working
