 Sailplane Collision in Same Thermal claims One Life
 One Gliding Club of Victoria Member Parachutes to Safety
    First Commercial Aircraft Certified to Operate on Sugar Cane Ethanol

The Benalla based Gliding Club of Victoria lost one of it's members and another had to "hit-the-silk" after their sailplanes collided at about 3500 feet over Dookie North near Shepparton about 100 miles north of Melbourne
 
Both aircraft appeared to be flying in the same thermal when "one glider apparently impacted the wing of another"
 
The pilot who managed to parachute to safety suffered a broken arm in the collision

Brazil's aircraft manufacturer Embraer delivered it's 1000th Ipanema crop-duster recently to one of it's dealers in Botucato Sao Paulo
 
This particular aircraft is the first commercial aircraft in the world to be certified to run on ethanol produced from sugar cane
 
The Company claims the ethanol-powered engines are more durable 7 percent more powerful and 5 times less expensive to operate than their avgas guzzling counterpart
