Just when radial engine knowledge and expertise is disappearing off Archerfield along comes someone to help keep the craftsmanship and design skill alive
 
This 9 cylinder radial was "discovered" by the News Desk during the week undergoing test running just around the corner from Archerfield airport

The worlds largest passenger jet - the "Double-Decker" A380 Airbus - called into Brisbane on the first leg of an OZ demo tour for Qantas celebrating it's 85th anniversary
 
The super-jumbo was "...greeted with wild applause from tens of thousands of very happy plane-spotters"
 
A number of suburban locals missed viewing the aircraft when it failed to overfly the city
