 Airservices Australia to Reduce ATC Workforce by 300 Personnel

Reports in the media have 300 OZ air traffic controllers facing the sack over the next 15 months as Airservices Australia - contractor to the Government for air traffic services - works "towards a flatter management structure" - and at 300 that's almost 30% of the unionised workforce!

It's ironic - as private and business flying declined over the past 20+ years from lack of industry support the need for air traffic controllers followed a similar - but not unexpected - trend
