Canadian Douglas A/B-26 Invader Warbird Enroute to Archerfield

October 21  2006
Making it's way 'Down-Under' to OZ via Hilo Hawaii is this WW11 era x-Canadian registered Douglas A/B-26 Invader previously used as a fire-fighting water bomber in Alberta and British Columbia

The aircraft is on it's way to OZ for it's new owner - a well known Archerfield based warbird enthusiast

News Desk Comment
As with any aircraft of this vintage serviceability is a BIG issue - especially if it happens to be a BIG Pratt & Whitney R-2800 twin-row 18 cylinder radial

...now that's ONLY the FIRST spark plug cleaned ...35 more to go for this engine

...and 36 on the other one ...
sigh..
