Jabiru in Emergency Landing near Bundaberg - The Ultralight's Birthplace

April 28  2007
A Jabiru ultralight has had an emergency landing at Booyan a few k's north-west of Bundaberg after an engine failure

The 2-seat ultralight landed in farmers paddock after the obligatory May-Day call to authorities - the nose wheel collapsed and the aircraft ended up on its belly sliding for approximately 30 metres before it came to a stop

The 18-year-old pilot along with his 20-year-old female passenger exited the aircraft and waited for emergency services to arrive - the passenger was later treated for a minor knee injury
