Life Lost when Ultralight and Light Aircraft Collide at Latrobe Valley in VIC

A solo student pilot in a 4-seat Cessna C172 has collided with an Avid 992 ultralight when both aircraft were on final approach to land at Latrobe Valley Airport in eastern Victoria

 
The 65-year-old ultralight pilot did not survive after his machine impacted the ground and burst into flames - the 16-year-old Cessna pilot landed successfully and was not injured

This ultralight fatality now makes a total of 7 lives lost over the past 4 months in aircraft accidents just in Victoria alone

Back in August 2 lives were lost Northern VIC - 4 in Southern VIC in November and now another in the East with this ultralight prang
