A Dalby based crop-duster struck power-lines during a spray run on a property in the Darling Downs area near Oakey - the highly experienced professional pilot was able to walk away from his damaged machine virtually unscathed

Cessna 172 Trainee Pilot Attracted to Drainage Ditch at Moorabbin Airport

Emergency services were called to Melbourne's Moorabbin airport after a Cessna C172 ran off the runway and crashed into a ditch

The trainee pilot had been carrying out circuits-and-bumps when he lost control

 
The 4-seat aircraft sustained moderate damage - the pilot was uninjured

Boeing and OZ Governments Contribute $54 million Towards Scramjet Research

Overseas media have reported on the Queensland Government's involvement in a partnership with the University of Queensland and Boeing that supports a new scramjet program called HIFiRE

The program calls for 10 flight tests to be carried within the next 5 years from the Woomera rocket range out in the desert of South OZ

The Australian Defence Science and Technology Organization will lead the OZ portion of the HIFiRE program along with the University of Queensland - Australian National University - the Australian Defence Force Academy at the University of New South Wales and the governments of Queensland and South OZ

 
The USAF Research Laboratory leads the US participation with contributions from NASA - US industry and various other Universities
