Light Aircraft Emergency Landing at Sydney's Bankstown Airport

At Bankstown Airport late yesterday two persons on board a Piper Chieftain aircraft walked away uninjured after the aircraft they were in carried out a successful emergency landing due to an undercarriage malfunction - the nose wheel failed to lock down

 

 
Shortly after landing the nose wheel on the PA-31 piston-powered twin collapsed

Emergency services then attended the scene applying fire-retardant foam as a precaution

OZ Tribunal Hearing over Right of Access for Work-Van at Archerfield

The Archerfield Airport Chamber of Commerce Inc has advised members of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal Hearing over aircraft maintenance personnel to have access to an airport 'airside' without having to pay for a high 'licence' fee imposed by airport operators

The AACC advise that the public hearing is set down for Thursday February 28 at 1000hrs Hearing Room 4 Level 4 - Commonwealth Law Courts at North Quay in Brisbane - NOTE: Placing your mouse over top of paragraph (yellow highlight) enables access to a previous report on the issue
