The OZ designed and built DW200 Whitney Boomerang has finally been approved for production receiving its Certificate in mid December 2007 - it is only the 5^th OZ built aircraft to have a FAR Part 23 ticket

The last OZ designed 2-seat pilot training type aircraft was Henry Millicer's Victa Airtourer in 1962

 
"In an official ceremony held before the New Year at Jandakot Airport in Western Australia - Dean-Wilson Chairman Steve Wilson handed over the first Whitney Boomerang to Minovation Chief Pilot Min Stokes - Steve flew the aircraft from Kingaroy to Jandakot and reported it as being ‘absolutely wonderful’"

A 55-year-old crop-duster pilot - aircraft type not recorded - escaped uninjured after making an emergency landing near the Queensland - New South Wales border yesterday

 
The pilot of the 'Duster apparently clipped power-lines while working near Mungindi forcing the emergency situation at the nearby local airport - the undercarriage was severely damaged
