First Production Whitney Boomerang Delivered to West OZ Flying School

The OZ designed and built DW200 Whitney Boomerang has finally been approved for production receiving its Certificate in mid December 2007 - it is only the 5th OZ built aircraft to have a FAR Part 23 ticket

The last OZ designed 2-seat pilot training type aircraft was Henry Millicer's Victa Airtourer in 1962

 
"In an official ceremony held before the New Year at Jandakot Airport in Western Australia - Dean-Wilson Chairman Steve Wilson handed over the first Whitney Boomerang to Minovation Chief Pilot Min Stokes - Steve flew the aircraft from Kingaroy to Jandakot and reported it as being ‘absolutely wonderful’"

Pilot Escapes Uninjured after Power-Lines Snare Crop-Duster at Mungindi


January 9  2008
A 55-year-old crop-duster pilot - aircraft type not recorded - escaped uninjured after making an emergency landing near the Queensland - New South Wales border yesterday

 
The pilot of the 'Duster apparently clipped power-lines while working near Mungindi forcing the emergency situation at the nearby local airport - the undercarriage was severely damaged
