Archerfield Pilot Training Stalwart - Gordon Jenkinson - Last Departure

MARCH 30  2008
The News Desk has been advised that Gordon Jenkinson has passed away peacefully at his Mt Tamborine home aged 76 - cancer being the culprit

Gordon along with his wife Jean operated their flying training and charter company "Sunland Aviation Services" at Archerfield for 30 years after buying the business from Hawker Pacific in the late '60s

The Archerfield Airport Chamber of Commerce sent the following communiqué advising members (quote)

"Gordon's true professionalism as a pilot and air operator affected all those who knew or worked with him. His quite gentlemanly and methodical manner, dry wit and unflappable composure will be remembered with fondness by all those who had the pleasure to fly with him

The team of Gordon and Jean stood up for everything righteous on the airport over many years with tireless and unselfish voluntary contributions for the benefit of all on Archerfield"
