ULTRALIGHT HELICOPTER ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF OWNER-BUILDER

A pilot has died after his ultralight single-seat home-made helicopter crashed in unknown circumstances on a property north west Sydney

The crash site is on the edge of the Windsor Downs nature reserve about 4km from the Richmond RAAF base

EMERGENCY BEACON ALERTS AUTHORITIES TO PRANG IN THE NT

A 43-year-old trainee pilot in a Cessna C182 lost control of his machine carrying out a "touch-and-go" at the Batchelor airstrip in the NT and ended up hitting a tree near the end of the runway

Police understand the pilot was caught in a cross wind and finished up clipping several trees before digging the nose wheel in the ground

MICROLIGHT PILOT INJURED WHILST ATTENDING WEST OZ FLY-IN

A microlight pilot sustained a broken arm and was flown to hospital after his machine ended up stalling after take-off at a private airfield east of York in West Australia's Wheatbelt

The 42-year-old pilot was participating in the White Gum Farm Aviation's annual fly-in along with around 40 other aviation enthusiasts when the two-seat machine crashed

KIWI PILOT OF CHOPPER IN HUDSON RIVER MID-AIR WITH PA-32

Media reports have a Kiwi flying the helicopter that collided with a Piper Cherokee Six over the Hudson River in the USA that has claimed the lives of 6 on board the chopper and 3 in the fixed wing
