TWO HELICOPTER PILOTS KILLED DURING CATTLE MUSTERING IN WA

A cattle mustering operation on Springvale Station about 50 kilometres north of Halls Creek in the Kimberley Region of the West OZ has claimed the lives of the 2 pilots involved

The 2-choppers were apparently involved in a mid-air collision - one pilot was a 37-year-old local from Alice Springs and the other a 39-year-old originally from Kiwi-Land

ULTRALIGHT DOWN AT NORMANTON IN FAR NORTH QLD

QLD Police have reported on an ultralight prang on a property at Normanton in QLD's channel country in the far north of the state that has injured two 54-year-olds

The two men on board the unidentified machine sustained only minor injuries when the engine apparently failed to respond shortly after take-off

LAWSUIT OVER FATAL C404 TITAN ACCIDENT AT JANDAKOT IN 2003

A multi-million-dollar lawsuit is underway in West OZ after a chartered aircraft crashed and burst into flames shortly after take-off at Jandakot airport six years ago

The Cessna C404 twin-engine Titan hit trees and burst into flames resulting in 2 fatalities and severe injuries for 3 of the survivors

A coronial inquest into the deaths in 2006 State Coroner Alastair Hope found that the failure of a fuel pump part made from incorrect alloy caused the starboard engine to fail shortly after take-off

CASA is also being sued after supervision and auditing of it's authorised officers apparently fell short of the required targets
