ULTRALIGHT DESTROYED IN ACCIDENT NEAR CUNNAMULLA IN QLD

A 42-year-old male has escaped serious injury after the ultralight aircraft he was piloting crashed into trees around 70 kilometres South West of Cunnamulla at 0750hrs to-day

The un-named ultralight was destroyed in the incident and the pilot - the only person on board - sustained a broken leg and was transported by the RFDS to Toowoomba hospital

CESSNA C210 ENDS UP IN DAM ON ISLAND IN GULF OF CARPENTARIA

A 23-year-old male pilot has walked away unharmed after the aircraft he was in had an engine failure and was forced to land in a dam at the GEMCO mine on Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory

The 6-seat single-engine Cessna 210 sustained some damage - it was en-route from Numbulwar to Groote Eylandt when it was forced to land short of the planned destination
