BANKSTOWN RUNWAY CLOSED FOR REMOVAL OF CRASHED C152

Media reports have a Cessna C152 flown by pilot undergoing solo training with the Sydney Aviation College 'crashing' onto the runway

The emergency response plan was activated with police fire crews and ambulance in attendance - the male pilot was uninjured

FNQ ULTRALIGHT 'COWBOY' PILOT FINED FOR UNLICENCED FLYING

A 52-year-old Charters Towers mechanic - Ken Acton - was fined $17,500 in the Cairns Magistrates Court for flying an unregistered aircraft over a three month period in 2007

Ken used his Skyfox Gazelle ultralight to take-off and land using public roads farmers paddocks and even the Cairns international airport whilst only the holder of a student licence

ULTRALIGHT PILOT FOUND DECEASED IN WRECKAGE NEAR HAY

Searchers looking for an overdue ultralight that had departed Renmark in South OZ on Monday and failed to arrive at the destination of Hay the same day have located the crashed ultralight about 37 kilometres west of Hay

A concerned friend contacted the Australian Maritime Safety Authority late yesterday over the missing machine and a large-scale search-and-rescue operation was launched - the pilot was found to be deceased
