PRIVATE LIGHT AIRCRAFT FLYING IN CHINA SET TO BOOM

China's light aircraft industry is about to boom once the authorities work out how to 'control' the private flying 'fly-for-fun-and-pleasure' sector

Media report have only 11 (yes eleven!) light aircraft currently registered in the country with ALL flights requiring prior approval

China has only 160 airports nationwide - all in the big cities - compared with 19,100 general aviation airports across the United States - experts estimate China's private light aircraft numbers will increase from the 11 in 2006 to 2,000 in 2020

China's low-altitude airspace is controlled by the Air Force and the Civil Aviation Administration of China - the authorities made Guangdong Province and the northeast region trial sites for opening up the use of airspace below 1,000 meters
