GERMAN PASSENGER JET IN WHEELS-UP LANDING AT STUTTGART

A Fokker 100 passenger jet with 73 passengers and five crew members on board made an emergency landing on a protective layer of foam at Germany's Stuttgart airport after the undercarriage failed to deploy correctly on a flight from Berlin's Tegel airport

The highly experienced crew were unable to lower the wheels despite several attempts and landed with the undercarriage only partly extended - no significant injuries were reported

RAAF BASE PLAYS HOST TO CIVIL SECTOR AFTER DARWIN CLOSURE

A Qantas flight from Sydney and a Jetstar from Cairns were diverted to the Tindal RAAF base 300kms south of Darwin after a charted Cessna C310 twin collapsed an undercarriage leg on landing at the Northern Territory Airports Pty Ltd managed prime income producing airport at Darwin

The pilot and passenger on board the leg-collapsing 6-seat twin-engine escaped injury - the Chartair operated Cessna sustained damage to the starboard wing and 3-bladed propeller
