MURPHY REBEL FORCED LANDING AFTER WINDSCREEN FAILURE

A home-built 2-seat Murphy Rebel flown by owner/pilot Rick Harper was over Anna Bay near Port Stephens north of Newcastle when the windscreen imploded resulting in an emergency landing on the beach - the pilot suffered minor facial injuries - the aircraft sustained damage to the undercarriage and propeller

KIWI MILITARY HELICOPTER CRASH CLAIMS 3 ON ANZAC SERVICE

A RNZAF Iroquois helicopter - one of 3 from Ohakea AF Base en-route to Wellington for an Anzac commemoration service - has crashed onto the side of a hill claiming the lives of 3 of the 4 persons on board

 The wreckage was found on a farm near Pukerua Bay north of Wellington - weather conditions at the time of the accident were "misty" with fog around - the sole survivor is in a serious but stable condition
