GYROCOPTER PILOT INJURED IN EMERGENCY LANDING

A 57-year-old gyrocopter pilot sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries after the rotary-wing flying machine he was in clipped trees and crashed

The crash occurred on a property at Elimbah near Caboolture - the pilot sustained lacerations and suspected broken ribs and was transported to hospital

MI HELICOPTER'S FORCED LANDING NEAR MARYBOROUGH

A helicopter owned by MI Helicopters was inspecting power-lines for Ergon Energy when it was forced to carry out an emergency landing alongside the Bruce Highway after an apparent engine failure - the forced landing was successful with damage sustained to the rear tail-rotor and fuselage that occurred during the unscheduled out-landing - all three persons on board escaped injury

ROYAL QLD AERO CLUB AT ARCHERFIELD ON THE MOVE

RQAC brief history - the club operated out of Archerfield's main terminal building post WW2 moving to Hangar 1 in 1966 and then into the new 2-story brick building alongside where it remained for the next 40-years


By November 2009 the Royal Queensland Aero Club had been in existence in one form or another for 90 years
