A Geraldton Air Charter pilot was lucky to walk away from his crashed A-36 Beech Bonanza after the aircraft failed to climb after take-off from Geraldton airport in West OZ


Geraldton airport manager Bob Urquhart is quoted in the press as saying the 6-seat single failed to gain height before it hit a shed on a neighbouring property - "It had cleared the Mullewa Road and one of the wings hit a shed on a property across the road and subsequently the aircraft ended up in a paddock"

QLD Police are currently at the scene of a fatal light aircraft crash that occurred on private property 50kms south of Dirranbandi near the QLD-NSW border


The pilot was 63-year-old Nev Bienke Jnr from Lismore - he was the only person on board the single-engine Fletcher crop-duster that burst into flames on impact - he was believed to be fertilising crops at the time

Police were advised shortly after midday to-day that a light aircraft had crashed on the central Queensland holiday resort of Great Keppel Island


The 4-persons on board the Cessna C182 suffered only minor injuries and the aircraft sustained extensive damage after it apparently ran-off the runway during the landing process
