AIRVAN CLIPS HANGAR APPROACHING ORANGE AIRPORT IN NSW

A 43-year-old pilot was lucky to escape serious injury when the OZ designed and built Airvan he was flying clipped the roof of a hangar approaching Orange airport in western NSW then nose-dived into the tarmac and slid into a shed

The official weather report issued around the time of the accident indicate fog may have been the contributing factor - the single-engine high-wing was approaching the airport from Parks in the south west when it clipped the top of the hangar

ULTRALIGHT MAYDAY AT COOMBAH IN OUTBACK NSW

OZ Search and Rescue located in Melbourne alerted the NSW Police Department about a mayday call they had received on an ultralight aircraft that had crash-landed on a cattle property at Coombah 150kms south of Broken Hill in outback NSW

Police from the Barrier Local Area Command attended the scene at the remote property and spoke to the 2 people on board the unidentified machine who indicated they were not injured - the property appears to be 'next-door' to Woolcunda Station
