 AUSTRALIAN DESIGNED AIRVAN IN FORCED LANDING IN UK 

The pilot of an Australian designed and built GA8 Airvan sustained a broken leg and was taken to hospital after the The Boogie Club skydive aircraft he was flying had the engine fail shortly after take-off from the Redlands airstrip in the UK


The accident occurred near Swindon - about 120k west of London - the 9 skydivers on board escaped serious injury - the Gippsland GA8 was severely damaged

 USA REPORTS ON AUSTRALIAN INVOLVED IN FATAL ACCIDENT 

A young OZe is reported to be the pilot of a Mooney type light aircraft that crashed shortly after departing the Hollister airport on west-coast USA for Australia via Hawaii - the 28-year-old pilot was named as Benjamin Glottstein from Sydney who did not survive

News video footage of the accident indicates the aircraft hit the ground with a high vertical speed tilting the fin and rudder back to resemble a non-Mooney machine

 ARCHERFIELD'S FTA MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP RE-BORN 

Flight Training Australia's aircraft maintenance workshop has been purchased by Peter Young of Flight Line Aviation fame


Peter started his own maintenance shop at Archerfield around 23 years ago after spending some time with the then Piper Dealer working out of the PNG's Talair built (1980) hangar - Peter eventually sold this business to JetCraft a number of years ago and went into semi-retirement
