CATTLE SPOTTING AT DURHAM DOWNS IN QLD CLAIMS TWO LIVES

Commercial Pilot Darren Zanker and mechanic Graham McNamara - employees of beef producer S. Kidman and Co owner of the remote Durham Downs Station property near the border of Queensland and South Australia - lost their lives when the Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP (180hp) they were in crashed during a cattle spotting operation near the homestead



Media reports have the 22-year-old pilot fully endorsed for low level operations and cattle mustering

 AIRVAN EMERGENCY LANDING IN BASS STRAIT DUE WEATHER 

A GA8 Airvan with 7-persons on board has made an emergency landing on Flinders Island in Bass Strait in the Strzelecki National Park



Apparently the weather was extremely poor with visibility down to 100m with drizzling rain - emergency services personnel have made contact with the survivors (Telstra employees) - there were no serious injuries

 AIRBUS A330 IN EMERGENCY LANDING AFTER CAPTAIN DIES 

A Qatar Airways A330 Airbus en-route from Manila to Doha with about 250 passengers on board was forced to make an emergency landing at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport after the captain died of a heart attack



The 43-year-old pilot - an Indian national - was pronounced dead by a medical team after the passenger jet landed
