Police are investigating the crash of a single-engine tourist type Beaver float-plane that occurred when trying to depart from an area about 1.5km north-east of Green Island on Saturday - the aircraft landed back on the water shortly after take-off - the Beaver then started to take on water and flipped over about two hours after the landing



The seven Chinese tourists on board were uninjured

A 60-year-old pilot of a replica Spitfire has died after his machine crashed near Gympie about 1600hrs to-day - the single-seat ultralight-registered aircraft came down on Lagoon Pocket Road near the Gympie Aerodrome



"There's believed to be one person in the wreckage - deceased"
