 ULTRALIGHT CRASH-LANDS ON ROAD NEAR JACOBS WELL AIRSTRIP 


The recreational pilot of an ultralight registered Vans RV-12 had the engine fail when flying over cane fields east of Beenleigh and attempted to land on Shortcut Road near Jacobs Well



Media images indicate the home-built hit a guide post on the side of the road during the emergency landing and ended-up in a cane paddock - the mature-age pilot was not injured

 RAAF ROULETTES GROUNDED - REPLACED BY KAVANAGH HOT-AIR BALLOON 


All operations of the RAAF Roulettes display team have been suspended after an engine of a PC-9 trainer caught fire during the week at the RAAF Base Pearce north of Perth



Last month the Defence Department cancelled all displays by the Roulettes and F/A-18 fighters at the Australian Grand Prix and replaced them with the RAAF Kavanagh VH-FAN registered hot-air balloon - the Avalon Air Show on in March will not be affected (apparently)

 FLYING SKILL AVERTS CRASH AFTER LOSS OF RUDDER IN CROPDUSTER  


A Darling Downs pilot is lucky to be alive after the cropduster aircraft he was flying hit power-lines whilst spraying cotton at a property near Bowenville on QLD's Darling Downs



The 60-year-old experienced pilot - Rob Thomson - was able to safely land his machine at the Oakey Air Base after trying a number of times to land back at his property and was eventually successful after diverting to the more crash-secure military air base

 TWO ESCAPE IN CHEROKEE STREET CRASH SOUTH-WEST OF SYDNEY 


Two people and a dog on board a Piper Cherokee escaped unhurt after the single-engine aircraft they were in crash-landed into a street in south-west Sydney



The PA-28 may have been attempting an emergency landing nearby - the crash brought down power lines causing localised power disruptions for a number of hours

 BARON WHEELS-UP LANDING AT NHULUNDUY IN GULF OF CARPENTARIA 


The pilot of a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron operated by Katherine Aviation in the NT was unable to lower the landing-gear due to a mechanical fault and was forced to circle over Nhulunbuy Airport for about an hour to burn off excess fuel before carrying out a successful wheels-up landing



Gove Airport was closed for several hours while the aircraft was removed - the pilot who was the only person on board - was uninjured
