 HELICOPTER PILOT SURVIVES AFTER CONTACTING POWER-LINES IN FNQ 


A crop-dusting helicopter pilot has escaped serious injury after the rotary-wing flying machine he was operating struck power-lines on a property at Forrest Beach about 7km east of Ingham in far north QLD


QLD Police initially believed the pilot had sustained serious burns - Ingham Police spokesman confirmed the pilot suffered only a minor injury - the helicopter sustained some damage

 QLD GOVERNMENT SUPPORTS WIDE BAY AIR-SHOW FOR GENERAL AVIATION 


The QLD Government has coughed up $200K of taxpayers funds to support the upcoming Bundaberg Air-Show to be held over the August 19-21st week-end



The event has been run biennially since 2003 and is designed to showcase the General Aviation sector which is now in a serious decline - particularly in the QLD south-east corner where up to 30 years ago it was the "hub" for General Aviation in the State
