A 21-year-old female glider pilot along with her mature-age instructor have lost their lives after the Grampians Soaring Club's 2-seater they were in crashed directly after releasing from the tug aircraft at the Ararat airfield in Victoria


"It is understood the glider's tow line had just been detached from a tug plane when it plunged about 60m to the ground"
