 PILOT KILLED IN HOME-BUILT HELICOPTER CRASH NEAR EROMANGA 


QLD Police have advised that a male person has died after the experimental helicopter he was flying crashed on a property north of Eromanga in unknown circumstances


"The pilot was believed to be in his 50's"

 PILOT INJURED IN CESSNA 210 WHEELS-UP LANDING IN THE NT 


The professional pilot of a Northern Territory Chartair operated Cessna 210 sustained a back injury after the mail delivery aircraft he was flying encountered a 'willy willy' on short final and landed heavily just short of the runway at Nyrippi airstrip around 200nm north west of Alice Springs


"The 26 year-old pilot was treated at the local clinic for possible spinal injuries and the 21 year-old co-pilot received a minor laceration to his forehead - Both men were flown by RFDS to Alice Springs Hospital"

 ULTRALIGHT PILOT INJURED IN LOSS-OF-CONTROL ACCIDENT IN VICTORIA 


The 56-year-old pilot of a home-built Jeannie's Teenie Two ultralight was lucky to survive after he lost control of his machine shortly after take-off from the Riddell Creek airfield 50kms north west of Melbourne in Victoria


"A witness said the home-made ultra-light aircraft appeared to have taken off from the nearby Riddell Airfield before it stalled and spun into the 200 foot ravine"


The pilot was trapped in the wreckage for about an hour and suffered suspected fractures to his skull, wrist and ankle and was air-lifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital
