 GOLDEN EAGLE'S PA-34 IMPACTS SAND DUNES AFTER DEPARTING BROOME 

The 27-year-old pilot of a Golden Eagle Airways twin-engine Piper Seneca freighter has died after the aircraft he was in crashed into sand dunes shortly after take-off from Broome airport in West OZ

"Witnesses say they heard a loud explosion - like a gunshot - before the plane went down off Cable Beach Amphitheatre where 250 people were gathered for a show"

 GA-8 AIRVAN IN FORCED NIGHT LANDING DURING PILOT TRAINING IN THE NT 

A GA-8 Airvan owned by the Bawinanaga Aboriginal Corp had the engine fail during a night pilot training exercise forcing the two pilots on board to carry out an emergency landing onto a road

The pilots initially intended to conduct a precautionary landing at the Ti Tree airstrip but were unable to activate the runway lights - the night landing was successful and the crew uninjured
