 GYROCOPTER PILOT SURVIVES FORCED LANDING ON PHILLIP ISLAND 

A 71-year-old gyrocopter pilot was forced to carry out an emergency landing on the mud-flats of Phillip Island in Victoria after the engine quit

The 'mature-age' pilot was able to extradite himself from his single-seat rotary-wing before it sank into the water - he was uninjured

 B58 EMERGENCY LANDING AT BANKSTOWN AFTER UNDERCARRIAGE FAILURE 

TV news media were on hand at Bankstown airport to capture a Beech Baron landing with the undercarriage only partially extended


The report had three pilots on board who were unable to extend the gear manually - possibility due to a mechanical failure

Lynne Grey senior pilot of Clamback and Henessy fame was one of the pilots on board who had survived a ditching in the Pacific Ocean in 2006
