SKYFOX GAZELLE CRASH LANDS AFTER TAKE-OFF AT MOORABBIN IN VIC

A student pilot on a solo training exercise was forced to make an emergency landing into a paddock shortly after take-off at Moorabbin airport in Victoria due to an engine problem - the male pilot escaped uninjured

Perusal of the crash image by the News Desk suggests aerodynamic flutter of a 'loose' aileron may have lead the pilot to believe that his engine was spluttering as well as causing the ultralight airframe to shake about

QLD'S IPSWICH COUNCIL SHUTS DOWN SPITFIRE FLY-IN AT WILLOWBANK

The City Council involved in the Scoffell airstrip at Willowbank has refused to allow the local warplane enthusiast's plans to stage a Spitfire fly-over to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation

Brian Scoffell had invited his warbird owner friends to drop into his airstrip at Willowbank south-west of Archerfield for a week-end of flying and visitor joy-flights

"Ipswich Deputy Mayor Victor Attwood said Mr Scoffell currently had approval for very limited private use of the airstrip and that only his aircraft are permitted to use the airstrip"

As a result of Ipswich Council's negativity the charity event that was to be held at the Willowbank Airfield at 139 Goebels Rd, Mt Forbes on September 29 and 30 is now cancelled
