ANOTHER ROBBO HELICOPTER BITES THE DUST NEAR DINGO IN CENTRAL QLD

A cattle-mustering R-22 helicopter was extensively damaged and two men taken to hospital after the rotary-wing machine they were flying impacted the ground during a refresher training exercise on return from mustering cattle

"The pilot and his experienced trainee were practising an emergency landing manoeuvre where the helicopter descends quickly but lands softly, but unfortunately the trainee struggled to pull it off."

US REGISTERED METROLINER IN DRUG BUST AT ILLAWARRA AIRPORT

A Delaware USA registered Swearingen Merlin 3 that landed at Illawarra Regional Airport nearly two weeks ago was raided for illegal drugs co-ordinated by the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad

"...drugs weighing 35 kilograms were seized from the aircraft ...one Illawarra man - who is known to police - was taken into custody in relation to the incident"

CHARTERS TOWERS AIRCRAFT ENGINEER DENIS BEAHAN ATTACKED IN HANGAR

QLD Police are appealing for information after a 61-year-old male employee of a light aircraft maintenance business was struck on the back of the head during what appears to be an after-hours inspection of the premises on the night of July 3 2014

"Police would like to speak with anyone that may have seen any vehicles or people in the vicinity of Corinda Avenue, Charters Towers or the Charters Towers airport between 6pm to midnight on the 3rd July, 2014."
