 (a) improving the performance of the Australian Government agencies within the system
 (b) optimising governance mechanisms and frameworks
 (c) completing the regulatory reform program
 (d) changing the regulatory philosophy of the safety regulator

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HI-LIGHTS DECLINE OF PILOT TRAINING AT ARCHERFIELD

Archerfield Airport Chamber of Commerce Inc has released a report sent to the OZ Government highlighting the significant decline in light aircraft movements since privatization in the 1990's

The Chamber mentions a number of reasons for the decline are "...self-evident and do not need an expensive and protracted enquiry to establish their existence"

PILOT INJURED IN VINTAGE BEECH STAGGERWING FORCED LANDING IN WEST OZ

The pilot of a vintage 1942 Beech 17 Staggerwing was injured after the award-winning classic he was flying apparently had an engine problem forcing an emergency landing into a paddock at Dardanup 13km south-east of Bunbury

A witness has reported the Beech radial-engine was "smoking and spluttering" before the crash


The pilot sustained head injuries and was taken to Bunbury Regional Hospital
