PIPER PA-46 MALIBU MAY-DAY • ENGINE FAILURE NEAR NARRABRI IN NSW

A 6-seat Piper Malibu with 2-persons on board has crashed into scrub-land around 46km south-west of Narrabri near the Newell Highway after an apparent engine failure when en-route from Dubbo in NSW to the Sunshine Coast in QLD

Both the 69-year-old pilot and his 32-year-old passenger survived and were transported to Tamworth and Narrabri hospitals
The pilot issued the 'May-Day' call to Airservices around 1630hrs yesterday
