ENGINE FAILURE OF VINTAGE CHIPMUNK DURING TAKE-OFF INJURES TWO

The pilot and passenger of a vintage Chipmunk were injured after the 1950's DHC-1 apparently had the Gipsy Major engine fail during take-off from the Luskintyre airstrip n-west of Newcastle

"The men, aged 33 and 39, were flown by Hunter Westpac rescue helicopter to John Hunter Hospital - The plane crashed through a fence about 500 metres south of the Luckintyre airstrip"

TASSIE CESSNA C188 DESTROYED IN ARSON ATTACK IN CENTRAL HIGHLANDS

A passing motorist alerted police after noticing that a crop-dusting Cessna aircraft parked in a paddock on the Lyell Highway at Bronte Park was on fire

"The Bridgewater Criminal Investigation Branch said the blaze was believed to have been deliberately lit and was now being investigated"

CESSNA 210 WITH 5-POB IN WHEELS-UP LANDING AT CAIRNS IN FNQ

A female charter pilot of a Cessna 210 with 4-passengers on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Cairns after an apparent undercarriage malfunction

The pilot "...suffered a minor wrist injury and was taken to Cairns Hospital while her passengers were unhurt"
The C210 sustained propeller damage

CASA GIVES ALDIS LAMP GREEN SIGNAL TO TOOWOOMBA'S WELLCAMP AIRPORT

CASA has approved the 'Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport' as a certified aerodrome - the newest in OZ for over 50-years

"As part of the CASA certification Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport will become a "secure" airport on November 10"
